What did I misunderstand then?

with standard staking you get ONG as reward, but with liquid staking, ONG rewards are automatically swapped to ONTs and staked to liquid staking pool, basically autocompounding, so your rewards are included in the ever increasing value of stONT in compare to ONT

Hey bud no need, you can continue, but in the near future, you will be able to assign to participate in liquid staking as node operator, so ONTs staked through liquid staking would be staked also at your node.
