Regarding the circulating supply, why is there not a definitive

answer on this or a definitive source to check?? Wouldn't full transparency be more appropriate?? How hard can it be to release or update this crucial statistic?? Why allow differing numbers to be publicly available and leave the community to speculate on the reasons?? It's just math. It's just a number. But since it affects the market cap why not have a current and accurate supply?? Makes no sense to me. Any thoughts appreciated.
