So why not put every proposal through a community vote

first? That way you know what the community wants and then the council can decide what they want to do with that and argument why or why not the community vote has not been followed

On that point, I don't entirely agree. Not all proposals would be suitable to propose to everyone given the complexity of the project and the need for developers to vote on the internal workings of the Cartesi machine. This could seriously hinder development as people might vote on proposal they do not understand. However, I do agree with having a section open to the community concerning the utility of the token and the creation of dapps.

Thanks, Tech3, I appreciate the comment. I do agree with you that putting every single proposal to a full token holder vote has its downsides for the reasons you note. That's why we see many projects gravitating towards a more representative form of governance. A Vision Council that is eventually elected by token holders is, I think, a representative process along those lines, would you agree?

I think that that would be a good thing as well but I also think that the community should still be able to vote to voice what they want, there is not better way to find out what the community wants with a vote and more decentralized to represent the complete community with a vote I do not know..

The idea of a vision council is good for the core development of the project and the project's in-depth growth. However, in the blockchain universe, the project's funding relies on the investments from individual people, even from very small investors who can have an impressively powerful word-of-mouth influence. There needs to be room for more basic proposals from average people, in order to really reach everyone. These propositions will undoubtedly be very light in terms of development workload. You could simply assign a developer from your team to work on implementing ideas voted on by the community. This could have a phenomenal impact, and very quickly, on how people perceive Cartesi. This in turn would quickly lead to an influx of potential new investors.
