What'S to stop Monero from eventually becoming a hot potato?

Banks not allowing anyone who traded for it, to deposit that money into their bank account when they are finally ready to. They may not be able to peer into the monero system, but they can see that you entered, and exited the system. You bought monero, then one day you sold monero. Asking as a total monero newb.

True it may become like gold. Paying people in gold is far less common than paying people with dollars. But this will not happen if the Monero network expands. Metcaff's law - The value of a network is directly proportional to the number of members. For monero to really win and take down banks and governments, we need to get a crapload more people owning it and using it.

Competent people who don't compromise it in their ignorance of best practices.

Banks aren't even going to exist in there current form for much longer anyway. Everyone will have a cbdc wallet. The shareholders of the central banks are the owners of the banks. It's corrupt. They can't do their shady shit with a cbdc. Which is why they need monero imo. Once they know it can't be cracked it's good too go. They need a public chain just like they need to for it too work. How else will they pay their whores and off shore their wealth? They won't want to store it in cbdc coupons. And btc is useless for privacy. Xmr all the way.

Good possibility, but I doubt the existence of CBDC's. Congress tried to ban them from happening. This shows that public sentiment has already turned against them. Not only that, CBDC's won't help them with their money troubles. You can just print more dollars, you don't need a CBDC for that. Printing more CBDC's will have the exact same negative effect on everything that printing more dollars does. Imo they're too embattled. If trump wins they're probably completely fucked
