[grayman_48142] Yes, however there is still a group working to improve the difficulty adjustment algorithm (DAA). Ergo DAA based on epochs rather than blocks, more like Bitcoin. The epoch length was reduced by a factor of 8 in order to increase the responsiveness of the algorithm. In short, we can handle large fluctuations in hashrate without suffering too much. But there is an ongoing problem with difficulty variance and block times that is subject to an independent investigation. If we find a way to improve the DAA, we will propose it to the core devs and miners as an EIP via https://www.ergoforum.org/.
