You know of the recent news of the genesis wallet

getting 20 btc right? It can be safe to assume that those coins will never be moved anywhere else again. A thought recently just popped in my head. What if all the financial institutions of the world got together to buy as much btc as they can, then just sent it to that genesis wallet to never be moved again. Wouldn't that kill the idea of btc then of being a source of value?

No, it would make the current circulating btc more rare, assuming demand was the same. Which would increase price.

In theory it would....but could there a threshold where SO MANY coins have been taken out of circulation that the use case of BTC is called into question enough that it stops being used🤔

If we're theorizing and going tin foil hat... How about this. The institutions with the ETF make a plan to fork btc into a pos chain, all the ETF funds go into that chain making it the biggest by market capitalization. The btc maxis who only chase fiat move to the other pos as it has the highest mcap. It's greener and is now fast as it was intended. The big boys get all the rewards as they have all the coins. Pure schizo but it's worth a thought 🤔

No, since BTC is dividable to 8 decimal places
