I thought the council was decentralised geographically by having actors

from different countries but Hitachi is the US Hitachi and looking at most of the members, their head office is based in the US even if the entity seems originally from overseas. Why isn’t it Hitachi from Japan and instead Hitachi US? If we have more than 50% of companies on the council, located in the US, can I say that we are not decentralised geographically but clearly have a lot of US based companies? Tks

Interesting exercise - my numbers were off one because it’s TaTa Communications (Americas) so 17 outside US and 13 in. There are 6 companies on the GC in the global Fortune 500. (I did not include GOOGLE - Alphabet is obviously a Fortune 500, but they aren’t on the GC). Of the 6, 3 are located outside the US and 3 are inside. Outside: EDF - 55 Deutsche Telekom - 79 LG - 204 Inside US: Dell - 97 Boeing - 197 IBM - 224 So it looks like the bigger companies are actually outside the US. Don’t know about the aggregate - don’t really want to search that hard. Interesting findings - I would have agreed with your perception before looking up the info.

I used to work for one of Hitachi Japan company and I know that Japan and USA operation are very different. Other operations in other countries is usually oversee by Japanese. Tbh Japanese are slow to changes, the USA team has authority in making decisions for themselves so that why it is mentioned Hitachi US.
