I was about to swap some Hedera tokens for Karate

and noticed it was going to charge me $267 on Saucerswap. Needless to say I didn’t go ahead with it. I thought saucerswap was supposed to be inexpensive to trade/swap. Is this normal?

I personally don't use Saucerswap because of this. Fees are too high. Just use an exchange like Binance, bitget, Coinbase. I invest in Saucerswap but don't use its services at all.

Thats called arbitrage, it's got nothing to do with saucerswap charging you, sometimes it can work into your advantage sometimes not. If there is not enough liquidity for a certain coin then you get these price differences. I've actually made some money through this. If you check other DEXs you will see the same thing. On Hsuite the difference in $ can be even way more as the liquidity is a lot less.
