had to have some usable dapps (even just fraxswap fraxlend and a system that simulated staking eth in frxeth and fxs in vefxs)
-The testnet should NOT have been launched empty and without activities to carry out, it's not a good look
-The testnet had to be incentivized with the first fxtl points, sponsored with recurring galxy quests that involved people staying active and sharing a few tweets etc.
-The mainnet should not have been launched only with a twitter tread but with a more pompous event (twitter space with some important guests)
-The mainnet also in this case had to be launched with some ready-made dapps, imo the average user's thought is "I waited a month for the twitter thread regarding the launch and now that it has been launched I still can't use it? next! )
-FXTL had to be announced to create hype but its conversion should not have been discussed and no mention should have been made of the choice still to be made on whether to launch a new token or issue new fxs. It was supposed to remain a mystery and leave the rest to people's imagination. Frax is perhaps the first project that gave certainty of an airdrop, imo the mystery generates much more hype as people not having certainties prefer to dream of the opportunity of a lifetime.
As always I think Frax needs to invest MUCH more on the marketing side and stop being associated with a nuclear physics graduate project.
For the rest, nothing to say, top devs, investing in this project means, as always, sleeping peacefully and having the certainty of being part of a continuously evolving and improving protocol with ideas that are always innovative at the highest level, which however will probably be copied ( as has happened in the past) from old and new projects that will try to exploit them with probably better marketing!
Pretty much agree with all of this. Well said
On point
there are other questions too - like zero team mention of fpis / fpi / future plans for frxBTC etc. A well-crafted Fraxtal announcement idea would have had clear goals for everything Frax related
Yeah we all shared the same sentiment about the lack of marketing and communication strategy. It's Frax kryptonite. A simple comparison of crypto marketer vs nuclear physics PhD: 1. Blast dedicated page for Dev invitation: https://blast.io/en/devs 2. The campaign page: https://blast.io/en/bigbang 3. This is a hard truth to acknowledge: although our team is of the highest caliber and has dedicated significant time and effort to developing this product, our communication, marketing, and overall coordination fall short of expectations. Launching a product without tangible actions/interaction leaves a bitter taste. We had one bullet to build hype.
To be fair I don't think they expected everyone to be so excited for the launch thread That's why they had to push it out a little late and no Twitter space after The tweet and marketing wasn't a big priority Chances are this project much bigger than they even realized and is behind schedule Berachain is almost 18 months behind schedule The testnet was brutal Prob would've been better to just announce a functioning testnet for people to play on Only gets better from here
On how the flywheel to work, I understand all the Sam K and team vision else FXS won't be my biggest bag. It's ironic that Sam K envisioned it, then pacman executed it better and lock TVL without even have a product. Both Gates and Jobs sell vision then execute it so well. I gave comparison above of how we can learn about simple landing page and communication. We have better tech, but we can learn from them on simplifying our communication strategy. We don't want to be UNIX/LINUX, when Blast became IOS/Apple. Stop trying to explain how flywheel work to amongst Curve/CVX/FXS maxist in CRV/CVX/FXS maxist language. We need to expand our community.
