If you want a click-to-start, or for the app to

be findable in your application browser you would want to add a desktop entry for the app.

It also links to a (very basic) bash script on Github that you can use to more or less automate the process, although admittedly it needs to be updated because it's something I just created very quickly and it can be a little confusing to use.

Desktop Entries are compatible with all DE's that uses FreeDesktop.

Debian uses FreeDesktop so it should work. You may have gotten the paths wrong, the guide is not super clear.

I tried this but it failed....on something. Couldn't get either working (on Debian 12) I'm somewhat of a Linux newb tho. I will try again .....cheers.
