wallet (with a local node on the same pc) over tor for syncing and sending transactions?
Whonix I have local node on one VM (blockchain is stored outside VM, it's accessed through shared folder) And some wallets on other VMs connected to node in whonix's virtual network (so they're not going to tor when communicating with node) Theoretically, everything runs over tor. Local node synchronizes and sends transactions over tor; wallets normally communicate with local node only, but even if they decide to go outside, it'll be through tor too. If this scheme has drawbacks, please, tell me
Ok, that is a good idea. So I can also install all in the Whonix WS, the gui wallet and the local node/blockchain? Without a shared folder outside.
I guess you can 🤔 Personally, I just like it being separated. As for blockchain, I'd recommend using shared folder as huge VM is not a very pleasant thing to store and maintain
👆 The pinodexmr can connect over tor, but i don't get it running.
How can I connect the ledger with whonix WS to the Gui wallet?
I don't use trezor, so I can't check, but: Both virtualbox and vmware VMs have usb controllers, so you can connect usb devices directly to VM
Could you elaborate on this? How do you configure it so your VM reads from somewhere outside the VM? Noob question
It's called "shared folder" in both vmware and virtualbox. Idk how am I supposed to explain it in chat, it's not a 2-sentence solution. 👀 There's a lot of information on the internet 👀
