Yup. MetaMask uses its Seed to create a Ethereum BIP32/44 standard address. Electroneum SmartChain uses the same standard thus it works. You need to create a new Custom Network in MetaMask so it uses the Electroneum SmartChain then the Ethereum Style address (0x****) will work for ETN. For a much safer setup, you can also use Ledger with MetaMask to act as your wallet manager.....signing transactions etc.
