Does the bridge actualy ever open or not really ?

its a bit dissapointing ive been in coti for 4 years and ive never been able to bridge off. i could just sell my tokens and re-buy on eth but it causes a tax implication so this whole thing makes no sense to me how is this balancing liquidity if anyone can buy and sell. coti should inject more LP and solve this already

The COTI Bridge opens and closes automatically according to flow and liquidity. To maintain the functionality of the COTI MainNet, we need to ensure a certain percentage of COTI tokens are kept as MainNet tokens, this is why there is a limitation on COTI MainNet tokens to COTI ERC20 tokens. If you wanna track when the bridge opens use this channel: https://t.me/CotiTipsBridgeStatus

Yep u tell, I am in same boat

Before this may have been the case due to native having many benefits that only applied to native. For example airdrops and also treasury access, gCOTI etc. However, now all of those features are available to ERC20 as well. (gCOTI coming soon according to admins) With these changes, it's now possible for everyone to move their coins to an exchange and set a limit on sell/buy, effectively doing a zero-loss swap for ERC20, and still get all the same benefits as Coti native holders. This raises the question: Are the bridge limitations blocking anything, and are they still necessary? It appears that the team may be banking on the hope that many won't opt for the swap, whereas previously, there were compelling reasons to keep native over ERC20. Your part of the message above, which states that a certain percentage must be kept as native, raises another question: What is the "certain percentage" amount that must be kept as native over ERC20, and what happens if we ever get close to it or dip under it? The only real benefit I can see keeping native holders from doing the above exchange swap is the seniority bonus, which some may not wish to lose if they did the swap. Please correct me if I'm missing something.

Everything is changing. If you read Treasury whitepaper you can see the max supply for gCoti 32 million; in fact it's 1B. There was a halftime addition to the circulation supply each year, in fact I don't know how it's going.

Yes lots of changes. The 6 monthly emissions were changed to floating a while back. In answer to your "how's that going" question, well, we are now heading to 2 billion in the next few months and should get there by the Coti V2 TGE. This advance to 2 Billion was called out in the Coti V2 plans. As for gCoti 32,Million to 1 Billion. Who knows. I'm guessing that the team decided that they needed more tokens, might be a good AMA question. Many projects' token supply numbers are a bit weird. For example, we all say that Bitcoin only has 21 million coins, but each coin is divisible by 100 million Sats, which can be bought individually. So if we are talking about Sats then Bitcoins max supply is 21 quadrillion Satoshis. Coti isn't divisible (yet lol). The real issue isn't the max supply of a coin/project but the rate at which your value in that token is being eaten away at by inflation/dilution. We know in Bitcoin that currently inflation/dilution is just over 1.6%. This will drop in about 15 days to 0.8%

Of course it matters, Dilution has to be outpaced by the benefits of adoption. For example diluting your holdings by 75% to only give you a value increase of 25% still leaves you 50% worse off. It's all math

Adoption > tokenomics (within reason)

Again just words, Makes no sense when actually played out.

By the way, Coti is divisible with 8 decimals, which means 2B x 1B.

Coti believe they have created something truely unique a one of a kind in this space to date. Yes they probably said this about multidag 2.0 and that didn't go so well I get the feeling they feel any inflation will be smashed to pieces by the sheer scale of adoption. Obv a massive inflation needs to be countered with even more adoption.

Of course you can't 100000x the supply and expect to outpace it with adoption. Its unrealistic. Just adoption now is the thing that will make it not matter that the supply has increased (within acceptable levels which I believe they are)

Your right it is, my bad. I've actually never tried to buy a partial Coti. I might do it tonight just to give it a shot.

So, Demand and liquidity is not a problem with actual supply. There should be another reason to change inflationary supply. Also we are not following the actual Coti distribution program. Planned to release up to 2032, but we will reach 2B up to migration CotiV2.

Native, yes, but Eth is different and it uses 6 decimals. *** see edit below ** No idea why the mismatch. I just attempted to buy a 0.00000001 Coti using ERC20 and it defaults to 0.000001, so it will round back up to 5 zeros and a number, (6 decimals). Not really anything of note , just an interesting difference between chains. EDIT: Okay it's the swapping at fault. Just checked the contract, and it's 18 , which is the default for ETH Contract code below. uint8 public constant decimals = 18;

In coti. V2 has possibilities of adoption. So i am not worried about increasing max supply. I am more worried if coti remains as V1, because currently, what i see in coti, is absolutely nothing that boost adoption. Just speculation based on treasury apy. We don't even know if it is still earning fees from djed protocol.
