with nodes putting up reserves for this purpose now means you have numerous entities providing collateral coverage - entities that are all profit making business enterprises (as nodes)

vs what are you getting with a conventional insurance provider? kek

Exactly yeah these nodes are not providing services for one thing, each DON they participate in is its own economic/profit making instance, if there is a failure for 1 event in 1 of the DON's they are participating in along with all the other nodes involved, there is obviously huge incentives to take care of it - or have your reputation ruined and now you cannot participate in these high value DON's, other nodes will step in happily.

Its always been like this but its of such a scale that it requires an immense amount of work to get this off the ground lol And still practically noone fully gets it.

Also, incentives are aligned, and the node insurance is incentivised to pay out to keep the rest of the network healthy and trusted, vs existing insurance companies trying to find any reason to not pay.
