no sequencer right now is centralized but anyone can force exit with txs so it inherits the security of the base.. you just need sequencing for liveness (to progress the state).. thats why rollups are now in favour.. aslong as the DA is safe the system is as secure.. but to solve liveness so you can have more layers on top you need permissionless sequencing (hence my ideas of pow there too)
