wouldn't it be better if you just mentioned Monroe instead of Ton? 😂
Not focused on privacy just freedom of speech but even then tg groups gets blocked in some countries.
Pavel Durov is also a WEF puppet too.
No he’s not. Telegram is not end to end encrypted in channels. You can’t enroll in Telegram without a cellular number.
They don't make end2end encrypted "secret chats" the default and they don't even give you the option to use it on the desktop app.. TG doesn't want you private
Correct. But what’s the alternative for Telegram?
Signal? They have usernames now
Yeah, I know and using that for chat with family and friends, but I do not have the channels options as Telegram.
Make group chat, and just restrict who can send messages
Signal or SimpleX for example. Actually there are a lot: https://privacyspreadsheet.com/messaging-apps
SimpleX, element, Session ;)
Wasn't Tucker hacked on signal? I think Signal OK to avoid google data harvesting but not "secure". I use Nextcloud Talk on my own server in my company and a mix of.session, signal, wattsapp otherwise.
I am pretty sure he also did not have good opsec :)
Not even in personal messages sir, its not encrypted end to end. Only encrypted end to end when you do a secret chat that too on device storage secret chat.
Yeah, I know. It sucks. But I am aware of that.
Session or briar
Signal is losing its CIA shell-corp funding.
The simplex is good. Even the element on the matrix has flaws. In terms of anonymity, it is so-so, but for privacy it will go, but in more detail it is better compare all decentralized messengers
I will save a useful link
Why not Signal or Matrix?
It seems like you can match your interlocutor in the matrix. I watched this video just yesterday. Again, it is better to compare messengers
Signal for "normies", Simplex for "geeks". Tor was also developed by some US government agency, does this fact mean we should avoid it?
Internet protocol started as a project from the US DoD, UNIX was made at Bell Telco, and so on.
What does "simplex for geeks" mean?
I mean that persuading "normal" people (who are mostly not interested in privacy/technology at all) to move from Whatsapp/Telegram to Signal is difficult but still possible. But trying to get them to move on to SimpleX ... you get the idea :))
You're right about that. I have to communicate with my family on Whatsapp. I don't do anything else except everyday communication, but that doesn't suit me either.
strange or good, Viber is not even on the list
It's strange indeed but I would be surprised if it was more private than Signal or SimpleX.
Signal needs phone number. Thats not really private.
Signal is a compromise in my opinion. And you are mixing up privacy and anonymity.
But compared to something like Telegram, it is years ahead in security and privacy. It all depends on what you are doing.
Signal don't need phone number now? 😳
Yea, it changed
