I am using the monero GUI wallet. is it very

detrimental to privacy and anonymity if I connect to a public monero daemon using a VPN instead of the tor network? as synchronizing the daemon over the tor network is insanely slow. and it seems the daemon stores the IP address

running own node isn't practical for the everyday person due to time consumption each time u run your node + storage consumption
