buy some Zano using some spare BTC from a reliable LocalMonero trader ( localmonero . co/user/Markantonio) whom I've established contact with via Telegram (@Markantonio) a few weeks ago. He has 2585 trades & a 99% rating. That's why I had no problem contacting him via Tgram.
However, it appears that the user whom I did the transaction with must've ALLEGEDLY impersonated his name (@Markentonio or something similar) bcuz they deleted the damn Telegram chat after I showed proof of sending the BTC via StackWallet.
I then called the real "Markantonio" from the local number in his LocalMonero contact & he says it wasn't him, that obviously someone is impersonating him.
My question to him on the fone was this:
I got in touch with you — or somebody pretending to be you — via the Tgram user name in your LM profile. So how come I'm now getting scammed by someone trying to impersonate you??
How did that person enter my life?
Obviously when I first contacted @Markantonio in Tgram, somebody replied back to me with a slightly different user name to the original. But I thought NOTHING of it — maybe assuming that one is for business, etc. Stupid me for not being vigilant.
Oh well, the transaction has gone thru. Live & learn. 😡
