yes, you can buy litecoin, matic (on polygon network), bnb for example they all have fast transactions and low fees and then swap. withdraw it to your own wallet preferrably and from there do the swap and try with a low test amount first to be sure.

if you cant buy xmr, i would assume you cant trade for it ON KRAKEN. but do try, it would be the easiest way. what would it even do to block buying if u can just swap for it?

I didn't even know that i can swap my e.g. ETH -> XMR when my ETH are on my cold wallet. How does that work ?

you can send it to your own wallet (safest way, but you can also just directly withdraw i guess), use a service that offers eth->xmr swaps (kycnot . me has multiple) and you send ethereum, you get sent xmr.
