Is it better to store etn in the electroneum mobile

wallet or metamask (no ledger available)? Obviously a paper wallet is an option as well but I haven't used one before. Ideally I would use my trezor but still not available yet. 😢

Metamask (without hardware wallet as key manager) is easy to use but only as safe as the computer you run it on. You should always prioritise wallets that are not online over online services like Electroneum or an exchange..... but only if you are sure you can and will take the necessary precautions to protect your computer. There is no paper wallet any more like the one we had on the legacy blockchain. But there are lots of options if you put in some time to research and test things...it's worth the time. Air gapped computer, seed generator offline etc etc there are options for storage. Spend some time and look into it. Fingers crossed the team can get some more hardware wallets down the line. 👍

Metamask (without hardware wallet as key manager) ...

The ideal way to store ETN is: download the offline version of MyEtherWallet (for example MyEtherWallet-v5.8.7). You run it on a computer not connected to the Internet. You generate a key for yourself, specifying a strong password of at least 15 characters, and save your key on several flash drives. If you want, you can print out your private key on paper. Then you simply accumulate ETN to this address. When the time comes to use your ETNs, you simply import the key into Metamask. There are, of course, ways to create and sign transactions offline, and then broadcast them online.
