FTM is that fastest and cheapest EVM L1 on the market & the Sonic chain is going to be multitudes faster with FVM. It will be the only L1 capable of genuinely massive throughput needed for mass adoption. FVM is not compatible with Opera it requires to many changes hence the new chain. It remains to be seen how the built in native L2 bridge to ETH functions and what it means but it could potentially be an absolute game changer in the space depending on if FF can actually tap into ETH liquidity on a large scale with it. So tech wise it’s genuinely brilliant in all aspects so the only missing piece of the puzzle is how they are going to fill it with users and traffic. If we already knew that info and it was a solid plan FTM would have already flew up the Ranks in anticipation of Sonic release.
