through anvl pools what exactly is the purpose of amp and its partition? Basically do i need to buy anvl? (I missed snapshot)
No one *needs* to buy ANVL
If you want to participate in Anvil protocol governance, then you want ANVL in order to vote. AMP will still be used as collateral, but the mechanism responsible for staking, pooling, claiming, etc, will be through Anvil
In all honesty I am not too fussed about voting, i would fundamentally like financial exposure to flexas potential success. Previously my understanding was that amp had some correlation there. But if capacity can be managed through anvl, then why use amp at all vs tokens with deeper liquidity?
the tokenomics of AMP doesn't change. you still have the same exposure to flexa's success

Thanks, super helpful, that guy clearly had the same initial reaction as me. I guess i just dont undsrstand why flexa would continue to use amp as collateral if they could use other assets, given they wod no longer need amps unique characteristics
I think your question "why use amp at all vs tokens with deeper liquidity" is valid and is a question I've had to rehash several times in the last few years since speculation on what the Anvil protocol would allow for. I think it comes down to the fact that you actually want a token that will increase in price as demand for the network goes up, unlike if you were to use a stable coins
What does this mean to AMP token itself. What are the potential upsides and cons?
But if you have enough liquidity to realistically cover all collateral requirements (eg btc eth) then I'm not sure it is so necessary. Interesting to see where this goes.
its also been discussed that using a token that is exclusive to the ecosystem limits the risk exposure from outside events with other tokens. Like if there were to be some sort of big market event surrounding BTC or ETH, it would have a direct impact on Flexa Network. With Amp its intended to be more isolated.
Thankfully btc or eth having a bad day has never affected amp price 😉
A follow up from Trev on a similar question.
Thanks. This certainly clarifies why we should be bullish amp
