whole purpose of crypto currency to be currency? i mean isn't the only way for ergo adoption is inception as currency for a community that will benefit from it?

[grayman_48142] The purpose of cryptocurrencies is to ensure the security of their platform. When I asked him to speculate, Kushti said that no token could reasonably achieve a market cap larger than ERG and maintain security. I'm not sure that I believe that, since PoW security is cumulative (gets harder over time), and so it might be perfectly reasonable for miners to calmly keep mining, especially if some of their compensation is in the token, in addition to ERG. Such a token could be more appropriate as a broad currency and achieve wide utilization while ERG remains less valuable in sum, but good enough to ensure the secure trading of the token currency.
