Most of the environmentalists point of the issues related to Proof of Work which uses CPU and GPU for mining that validates the transactions like BTC and ETH. BSC combines proof-of-stake (PoS) and proof-of-authority (PoA) to achieve network consensus and maintain blockchain security. Matic/Polygon adds a second layer generally known as L2 over any underlying blockchain (I've mostly seen ETH projects) using the concept of Plasma Chain which saves the gas fees and well as reducing the transaction time

So polygon matic is environmentally friendly ?

Haven't actually dived that deep into the environmental issues regarding Polygon

I think mostly big banks try to say pow is polluting. In reality, pow doesn't have to be polluting if it's done with renewable energy. Just like all aspects of life, we can't stop using energy, we just have to find a cleaner way to do it. So I think it's mostly a big bank talking point pushed by the media

Banks will lose their control over because of that. Plus this debate is endless and either side just can't stop coming up with new facts to support their views.
