won’t buy and stake hex because he thinks government is going to kill crypto. What’s a good way to explain why this won’t happen? Thanks
Hex is not "crypto" it is a pure market completely decorrelated and can't be turned off or taken over.
It can happen, that's the problem. Governments could simply make it illegal for banks/exchanges to accept crypto for fiat.
Tell him to go read MICA regulation
there is no intermediate here its just you HEX and the smart contract of staking, and as long as ETH network exists, HEX isnt going away, cant stop it, there is no common enterprise
They’re looking for ways to get their own cut; their own piece of the pie.

Tell him, blockchain is borderless, not every government will ban it, and the appreciation will be worth a plane ticket.
My man!
If he lives in China, maybe he should not invest. Most countries are embracing crypto
Lives in USA
Ethereum chain has probably 1 million computers running it around the world. You can't ban it
Remind him that the government can and likely will help themselves to his pension, 401k, Roth, any investment really. Nothings off the table these days.
I've heard RH said "HEX was designed to not be a security" 1:04:08 in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_NQNDKMJTE I like that, but how does MiCA regulation https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=CELEX%3A52020PC0593 look at that? just wondering does anyone know about MiCA (Markets in Crypto-assets) regulation?
In Europe, MiCa is just a proposal, so far. For the Cryptoassets in general. And they are not planning to kill Crypto. In the other hand, HEX is not considered a security, you mint your own coins, so all good 😎
