commission, does the # of coins staked matter? how does one choose a good validator?
Please see our staking tutorial that also tells you what to look for in a validator. https://blocksunited.com/how-to-stake-matic-tokens-on-the-polygon-network/ Be leary of 0% commission nodes. Ask yourself, Why would a stranger on the internet who could be anywhere in the world offer me something for nothing
Thank you! 👍
What do you mean weary? Must a validator charge fee to be genuine? Expound
It’s enticing to stake your tokens with a validator node that doesn’t charge commission, but BEWARE! 0% commission is often a bait and switch tactic node operators use to accumulate tokens quickly. Then they slowly begin raising their commission. They are betting that you won’t notice, or will be too lazy to move your tokens to a different validator. Plus, good luck getting support or your questions answered from a validator that doesn’t charge. They have virtually no incentive to care about you. No one is going to run a validator node that loses money. Our MATIC node and sentry currently costs around $1200/month at AWS. So, we charge a reasonable 5% commission to cover our costs. For comparison, the Binance Polygon validator node charges 12% and many others charge 10%.
Not on Polygon
How much commission do you charge?
5% which is super reasonable for what we provide. It costs $1300/month at AWS to run our node and plenty of time goes into it too..Average validator commission across all blockchains is around 12%. Don't be fooled by 0% commission nodes. There are honest operators and many who are not. None offer customer service and we are always quick to respond. Let me know how else I can help. We'd love to partner with you.
Super, when I'm ready to move my stake I'll DM.
