HEX is a blockchain certificate of deposit. Just like in the bank, you can only stake the currency the bank is licensed to mint. Other rules are similar too. So, obviously, you can't stake USD in the HEX contract. Only HEX.

Correct. On that calculator. You most likely left it at today’s price. It allows you to switch future price. Nobody knows of course but is mind blowing when you increase that #

hexcalc suggests the 'interest' on 1m HEX staked for one year, would be 133,000 HEX. At today's price, that would be about $56,000. You've read the site wrongly.
