use chainlink if you use only one API endpoint of data?
Not as much sense as having more than data source but better than using a single oracle that you control.
Is it better just because cl ready solution? Is in terms of security both cases the same?
If you run the API and the oracle, I suppose there’s no difference. If there’s a third party api and you run the oracle, why would your customers trust you to not tamper with the data when ingesting it from the api? That’s why I think a decentralized oracle checking the same API is still better than a centralized one. (Of course, not as good as multiple high quality data sources when they are possible.)
Sure!
Pls read my message sir
I can not understand why for example some decentralized nodes which uses one third party API better then one centralized, because in both cases we have one entry point and in case of hacking both types of oracles would get wrong data.
You are right but it shifts who controls that one point. As we both agree, I think, you want to avoid single points of failure/compromise. All I am offering as opinion is that if there are two points of failure/compromise - eliminating one of them (the oracle) from being a weak point is better than having both of them (the oracle and single API) be susceptible.
