for games. I've been on the other side. I know for a fact that bots are giving a huge unfair advantage that is VERY NOTICABLE.
Consider this:
I have my NTP sync'd clock on my PC that I compare the veve countdown timer to. I refresh the veve page until it is at its fastest/lowest number, so I have the best odds of being first.
I'm a musician and a gamer. I have a method of pressing the buy button so it's literally within 100ms or less (yes, I've timed it).
I'm on a fiber internet connection with 9ms or less of latency with online measurements. Sure this is indicative of LOCAL speeds however it's on business-class fiber in the US. This gives yet another advantage.
I've done everything possible to give myself the best odds. I don't think 10k other people have done the same, and you don't think bots are contributing?
You can use emulators, what are you talking about? @OmiWanKen0bi Here's some math. Out of 300k people, what do you estimate the % of people with an understanding of how things are working are? Of that %,, what % do you think are actually going to the lengths that I am going through? Don't bury your head in the sand. Bots are making a noticeable difference, and only compounds the issue with the more legitimate users we have.
Show me proof of your claim, I’ll wait
You really can't, I've seen videos of people not even able to get to the veve login screen on emulators, so if there's one that can bypass veves great security please share lol Too many people can't take losing, do the math, 10,000 copies and close to 100,000 users, it ain't hard to tell what's going to happen
Lol I went from getting 12 comics on one phone with no bot or hacks to barely sometimes scoring one comic in a weeks timespan. It’s really not that difficult for the Veve team to implement a captcha when they originally had one. It’s not losing out that people can’t stand. It’s the obvious unfair advantage that the market holds now. Verify humans. Deny bots. Make people happy.
I don't think the captcha system was working correctly, I've been here from near the start and every drop I was being captchad, when newcomers were not I could just about get 1 comic at that point. I've got ultra fast 5g giving over 500mbps with 15 ping a top spec phone and I've won about 3 times in the last 4 months, I can't complain, just gotta wait for the next phase
completely incorrect. I got the comic this morning using my phone, as intended
Hi Can you give me more information on account restrictions? More than a week that my account is blocked for no valid reason! Thanks
take a breath friend, it's literally only been 7 days. Im lucky to get 1 in 10 drops these days, thats just the nature of 100's of thousands of users. We have thousands of drops to come, and the dev/support team are working around the clock to resolve any issues, so a little patience please 🙏
Hey, is there anyone (devs, etc) I could speak with privately about the bot issue? So many people say that bots don't exist, or that they're all getting banned, but I don't believe it. I've been coding for over 27 years, have made hacks and exploits for games, etc. I can say that I see something exploitable here and do believe it to be an issue.
Are there any plans to add a mandatory post-reservation captcha to stop the bots and complainers, and eliminate the advantages of auto-clickers & tool users + reduce the geological unfairness due to latency? Its been one of the most talked about solutions to this dilemma
hey mate, we have a world class dev team and have built this app from the ground up. They're always closing gaps and implementing new measures to combat them, so while i appreciate the offer we'll leave it to them to continue to do.
I get things go wrong, but it’s a big wrong. If I had a $100 locked up it wouldn’t matter. But I’ve got a LOT more than that. It’s hard a pill to swallow to know that your account is locked, thinking you own something but it can just be withheld from you for nothing. It’s not just about the missed drops. I just wish we had more official word on what’s happened and what’s being done.
