Hey guys can someone explain to me how market cap

works ? I always hear that market cap doesn't matter . But for example , if it's at 28 cents right now with a 176B market cap , when it hits 1 dollar will it need almost 750B market cap ?

So I should calculate total supply x price ?

Circulating supply * price

How do I find out what circulating supply is

All the mcaps are currently based on circulating supply. This response you have there should point out that the circulating supply used to determine mcap is not exactly the true circulating supply.

Well what is it then?

Well what is it then?

For example, Hex. The OA locked in more than half of the supply. Those hex owned by the OA is technically considered part of the circulating supply because those hex, which are not staked(burn on smart contracts) can be sold anytime. Hence, the mcap is including those OA hex as part of the circulating supply for its calculation. However, experts here deem that circulating supply are those Hex which are truly circulating , which should not include OA's hex because it will never be "circulated" by RH.

Which is what I assumed it to be

Which is much smaller than the mcap shown by Nomics.com
