I get stuck when I need to unlock the Account. Metamask is engaged, but when I select "sign" Ledger is not responding. ( everything is latest version). I get"Waiting for Wallet to sign" BTW got like 2-3 standard scams as pretended help here.

Are you using Chrome? Have you tried clearing the browser cache That normally fixes it. You said you checked the latest ledger firmwares and software updates . Those are the normal issues for the error you see.

Thanks, I have tried all that. I'm using Brave and can't connect ledger to MetaMask. Looking at their site for solution

Try using chrome. I know a few users have had some issues with Brave and ledger before.
