Why are people talking about hardware wallet (Ledger Nano S)

used with MM can be compromised, I never put in my seed using MM connecting with Ledger?

K thanks Lou. That’s a great help. So I currently have a MM wallet containing some ETH. If I created a seed phrase on the HW I would end up with two phrases? Man this stuff is confusing

A hardware wallet acts a physical 2FA device and the seed phrase never leaves the device. Connecting a hardware wallet to Metamask acts as a bridge to the hardware wallet. You still need to approve the transaction on the device. Importing a seed phrase from Metamask to a hardware wallet defeats the benefit of using a seed phrase that's never been on a computer and should be avoided. Always use a seed phrase created on the hardware wallet to store your Crypto,
