Just went to go.hex to place a new stake ,

when connecting to my MetaMask I get the highlight “ new address detected , click here to add to your address book “ , never recieved this before . Sound fishy ?

"address book" sounds fishy. Use go.hex.com/stake

It was in a recent Metamask update — to make it easy for you to save a name with the address ... if you don't use it, you'll continue to see the warning, but it's useful to "tag / naame" addresses, so next time you want to use them you have the confirmation that it's the same.

but yes, always use theofficial site, or one of the approved community frontends ... it's just MM helping to make things a little more secure (and confusing people in the process)

it's only when you try to do a transaction in MM, to a new address that it hasn't saved before

I DID. Use it , like I said when I hit stake , it need to connect to my wallet to take the stake , that’s when I get the message FROM MetaMask , others here said that’s acceptable as a new update from MetaMask .

similar to how a phone or email client might offer to save the address if you send a message to a new address ... it's a little convenience, and a little security - nothing more
