You can either sacrifice. Or wait till pulse is available and buy straight away. Or wait for a dip in price if there is a dip.

If the bridge is live at launch, you will probably be able to bridge in your assets from Ethereum to the Pulsechain. If you want to swap your copied PRC20's or bridged assets for PLS at launch, you need some PLS for gas in the same wallet. You can hold about $20 in ETH in the same wallet so that it's also copied 1:1 to have some PLS for gas. If you don't mind the transfer fee you can also sacrifice it. That will net you more PLS, about ~18 points per $1 at today's rate. You will also be part of the sacrifice set for any future airdrops. I've heard sacrificing BNB is very cheap.
