answer anyway but this AMC NFT situation really boiled my blood and im sick of biting my tongue. I have faith in this team but if investors don't push you for results who will?
I guess since I work in the entertainment industry in LA and hear friends talk about future deals or projects all the time, I was not surprised by the AMC Spider-Man NFT. It’s only a matter of time before all major IP will look for ways to maximize their monetization of their product. They are never going to sign exclusively with one company because that will limit the amount of profit they can make. All major companies or creative IP will sign a specific deal for a specific amount of time and they will also leave the door open to work with other companies that’s just the way this business works.
I agree. I wasn’t surprised and I never expected exclusivity either. But many people spend lots of money on so called FA - NFTS and without IMX our collectibles don’t hold weight in that argument at this point. In particular Spider-Man was my example. Also at the pace the world is moving, it’s not that hard for me to see someone else with deep pockets hire a solid sales team to swing similar deals as ecomi and mint their own style of collectibles. Our never ending timelines is my area of concern not the IP.
Well I think most people would be a fool to think that all the movies studios will not be opening their own NFT departments for all of their franchises. Think of it this way Universal will probably open its own Harry Potter NFT division and then you may have something like Paramount that will open its own NFT division with Transformers and so on. What we can hope for is that it takes a long time for all of those large corporations to figure this out and hire the right people and get the wheels in motion and by then with the collectibles and comics you have on this platform you should be able to sell them on open sea before that happens. As Gary V said with new corporations and new licenses there will always be a “first NFT” with that corporation, that’s how they will market it, but only the hard-core collectors will know when the first ever, say Spider-Man NFT was out and what platform it was on.
Good points. Unfortunately that significantly lowers the chance of moon, which is what most buyers are hoping for I'm sure. I would much rather be able to definitively say I own the FIRST spider man NFT ever. Not have to explain it technically was the first but we didn't have IMX in place, etc. But it is what it is I guess. I like this project but things like this are major disappointments and what causes people to jump ship. Not just from the token but from the app entirely. They aren't red flags yet but its been a rough ride. I said it earlier, Ecomi is very fortunate to have such patient investors but never ending timelines is poor way to show it.
