The problems with hiring great software engineers has always been the work environment not just the funding. Obviously this is improving with BitcoinABC and continues to improve on other chains as well. Participants in ɃTC projects have increased dramatically over the past few years, and other legitimate projects have also learned to develop a culture of transparency, respect and patience. Protocol development specifically has been difficult because of the competitive and combative nature of individuals who are actually encouraged to be disruptive. Most of that has left eCash but there is still a lot of room for improvement, and it is not surprising that many are losing patience based on the signal to noise ratio that is tolerated in some channels. I am just glad that this, the oldest BCH/BCHA/ECASH group, continues to keep a decorum that encourages legitimate questions and welcomes new people.
