MetaMask, is my HEX sitting on MetaMask for the duration of the stake or is it sitting on go.hex.com?
I'm just wondering what the potential attack vectors are. Thanks in advance.
It's 'on' neither. The information is all on-chain. Metamask is just the wallet you used to interact with the chain, and the HEX page is just a kinda front-end to facilitate that. If you staked to an address controlled by a seed on Metamask, it's that Metamask which would be where any possible trouble might come from. If the bad guys are able to access that seed then they'd be able to end the stake and steal the HEX. Don't worry: as long as you're careful, having your seed compromised is *extremely* unlikely. On the other hand: please consider instead moving that seed from the Metamask to a hardware wallet instead, for extra security.
you can't stake via metamask, go.hex.com is just a frontend that lets you interact with the hex contract, it is not "storing" your hex. Your hex coins are burnt and exchanged for T-Shares when you stake.
That's a better answer than I got from tech support. Thank you
Frustrating how many crypto investors don't understand this
