not even able to put it properly bcs not all the specifics are available / known yet.. I'd like to know if the eCash team is looking into alternative versions of Internet, to make XEC work on them if/when they appear.. I don't know what those versions are or what their tech specs will be, but I'm talking about the possibility of Internet getting banned or limited for certain individuals or groups of people.. so basically to rephrase, are XEC devs looking into adding support for any kind of "non-standard" internet infrastructure or some new, upcoming version(s) thereof?
Considering the mission of XEC...
The goal for eCash is to become sound money that is usable by everyone in the world. This is a civilization-changing technology which will dramatically increase human freedom and prosperity.
... I think that's an important question.
Wauw what a question!! Why do you think there will not be internet for certain people/places? What I. Know so far you send data via Bluetooth, sms, what other possibilities are there?
It is an interesting thought experiment. As long as there are networks of computers, it is possible to run a blockchain. If some day countries decide to completely ban the Internet, they will probably still have a local version of it in the country, so you could have a national fork of eCash. It is unlikely that you could perfectly isolate the network from the rest of the world, and you would only need one node that is connected to both the national Internet and to another international network to keep these two networks synchronised.
