Hi everybody i have an important question to the team.

@admin when i imported my metamask eth compatable adres with the polkadot js moonriver parachain i had problems to connect my dot js extension with the parachain auction sites. Why is this? And till now i dont see the value of moonriver having a parachain on Kusama. Because it seems like there is no usecase for the parachain at all. All the usecases of moonriver is with the eth compatable metamask connection. Why is this. And what is the usecase at this moment of the parachain on Kusama?

You can import your seed phrase from metamask to polkadot js and get the same address, you can use staking, governance via polkadot js. We are a bridge between ethereum developers to move them to kusama ecosystem. The Kusama network has a variety of parachains, whereas Moonriver has become the most adopted parachain. The Polkadot protocol produces parachains. Kusama provides a place where developers may experiment or build something fast. Parachains allow blockchains to communicate with one another. Oke thank you for this responce and how about the connection problems that i am experiencing when i import my metamask seed in the polkadot js extension. Then i can see my eth compatable adres in my account moonriver dot js but then when i try to connect with parallel auction site then i cant connect. But when i forget the moonriver account with the 0x adres then i can connect again. So why is this? And the second question. Why i cant make any transfer from my moonriver account on the dot js? I tryed this multible times and i get an error. And i cant see any staking button like the ones i see in my dot account by example. So this are all problems that gives me the impression that moonriver being on Kusama as a parachain is not functioning the same as the other parachains. So can you clarify this issues please??

I think it is much easyer if you just try it and you will see what happens. 1. Import a eth adress to your moonriver account on dot js. Then try to connect with the site of parallel of the auctions. And 2. Just try to make a transfer wtih this account on moonriver in the dot js and you will not be able to do that.

I mean it is not up to me to explain technically as a user. I only can tell what is happening when i do stuff 😊

Alberto will explain to you in more detail why you can't do it, I tried sending tokens to any ethereum style address and everything worked fine.

Did you also try to connect with parallel auction site with your dot extension while you have your moonriver 0x account on it?

Yes, I tried to do it, it doesn't work because there is a technical explanation for it.

So, we benefit quite a lot on being on the Kusama ecosystem because of the native interoperability Kusama offers. We will be rolling out XCM features shortly, that will allow us to connect and interact with other parachains in the Kusama ecosystem. Moonriver is focused on being the most Ethereum compatible place in Kusama, and so, it uses Ethereum-styled accounts. You can't import your mnemonic to Polkadot.js Extension because the extension is not prepared to handle Ethereum accounts, so you'll get a different address. You can import the mnemonic to Polkadot.js Apps to interact with the network, although it is not recommended. Parachain auctions happen on Polkadot/Kusama, so you have to connect to whichever site you are referring to with a Polkadot/Kusama account via the Polkadot.js Extension. Hope this clarifies your issues

Yes technically it is more clear for me now also because yesterday i was playing around with everything to discover how things works because i am a very practical person so to really understand something i really need to do it all the way and yesterday i did! 😊. But my most important question for you techinacally. Will it be possible later on to use bought kind addresses the eth and the dot/Kusama ones in the polkadot js extenstion? And will it be a possibility to import a old eth wallet that only have a private key to the moonriver or moonbeam account on kusama or polkadot js?

We are working to bring Ethereum-styled address support for the Polkadot.js Extension. However, this doesn't mean that apps such as solarbeam won't support Polkadot.js Extension. It means that Substrate based applications should support moonriver ;)
