now I think I understand it a lot more, but I still have some questions. Please correct me if I’m wrong and if you could answer. 1. shares refer to your share of hex you will receive once stake ends. 2. You cannot buy or sell shares, it is only given if you stake hex. 3. Do you get one tshare per $1 of hex or is there a certain minimum amount? 4. Is the interest you are paid from newly minted hex or something else?
1. shares are a measurement in the hex contract of your commitment of hex and time into the system.
2. You burn hex and mint shares. The shares remain in the contract.
3. The price of Tshares is in hex. Only hex can get you tshares. The tshare price goes up in hex terms as people endstake to keep short stakes from outperforming longer stakes. The tshare price is 1/3 the cost if you stake for 10-15 years. At 5 years you get double the tshares, 10 years triple the tshares for the same hex, for example.
4. shares give you the daily inflation aka new coins generated by the contract, and also you gain bonuses for early endstaking and late endstaking. You are not able to remove this reward until you endstake.
Ok so tshare is basically just something that says you burned your hex and based on how much and how long you will receive x amount, is this correct?
But what is the ratio of it, like let’s say if I staked $1 of hex, will I get 1 tshare for that, or will I get 1 tshare for every hex?

Thanks this helps a lot
It changes often due to when people endstake. use stakehex.today, or hexcalc.net or go.hex.com/stake to calculate how many shares you get per your hex when factoring in the time you commit to
So shares are just something that determines how much inflation you are paid, and you cannot buy or sell your shares
@Devonbloke if you see this haha

You can't sell t-shares?
definitely not
the philosophy is you have to serve your time to earn the high yield. This is not get rich quick
trading is how most people fail at crypto
