the sidechain from 20:20 to 22:30 is really interesting. Talking about the further decentralization. I know we are all looking towards worker pools, but realistically won't we see most or all action on the sidechain due to ETH fees?
How is the situation regarding fees anyway? In what time intervalls will pools get paid and will each payment in RLC require an onchain-ETH transaction?
All tasks that don't require interaction with a smart contract would be on the sidechain. Fees aren't that bad if you optimize things tho. Chainlink has been on mainnet for 3 years now. For example... Initial request would be on a main chain, delegate sends to sidechain, Poco stuff will all be on sidechain, then the signed results would be returned back to the mainchain.
Yes, I've been hoping they go down this route
You know Hadrien updated the PoCo github the other day.... fixed a versioning number lol
Just hope they go any route soon with a v1. Best we can do is assume they're working on it and it's actually on the roadmap. Iexec is still isolated on its sidechain and might be a reason why the market doesn't view it as a serious project.
I honestly feel like we would know where the project is going if they still had Hadrien onboard and he was still publishing his PoCo series
