Instead of mass banning and restricting accounts in general (which affects users who are innocent too)
Wouldn’t it just be more efficient to flag accounts that are suspected for bot activity and to add a 80% gem tax (which Veve collects and 🔥 the OMI equivalent of the taxed amount) as a “penalty” to these bots trying to sell their ill-gotten collectibles?
This way, the buyer wins, because they get the collectible they want, but only the seller (who is probably a bot) only gets like ~10% to 20% of the sale proceeds.
Example:
Flagged account lists collectible at 1000 💎
Less: Market fees (2.5%) = 25 💎
Less : Gem Tax (80%) = 800 💎
Net gains: = 175 💎 (82.5% reduction)
Immediate Results:
Buyer - Gets the collectible that they like in secondary.
✅ Buyer Wins
Seller (assuming it’s a bot) = Gets only 15%-25% of the 💎 from the sale proceeds.
❌ 🤖 seller loses, and effectively stops listing collectibles until they prove to Veve that they are not bots though a manual audit, or just leaves Veve altogether.
OMI holders = ✅ Win, because taxed gems OMI equivalent from flagged account marketplace sales are permanently 🔥 (reducing circulating supply of OMI)
Veve & licensors = ✅ Also win, because it changes nothing on their end as all fees are still paid.
Why this works better?
Veve doesn’t have to piss off everyone. And It’s is much easier and cheaper to administer for Veve and it’s fairer for everyone who is in Veve.
If you are a 🤖 account: there’s no way you can prove that you didn’t use a bot to get drops, because Veve can put you on hold forever until you prove to them that you didn’t use bots. (Which is very difficult)
If you are an innocent Veve user = you win because there are less bots on the system making it easier to land drops.
If you have been wrongly flagged as a 🤖 = it will be very easy to prove your innocence because you did not use a bot and your flagged account status will be lifted very quickly.
