I see total deployments increasing nicely. Active deployments not so

much. I am just curious what are the typical deployment that dosent get "active"? :)

I've done more than a hundred deployments that are no longer active, mainly for PKT mining. There are many times I open a deployment to test mining performance on a particular provider, only to close it after a minute if the performance isn't what I wanted. Chia plot creation also would be a temporary deployment. Also, anytime someone is testing a deployment for website or something, it might take a bunch of tries until they get it right. Each one of those tries will get added to total deployments, but it will only add one to the active deployments. Unique Lease Owners on stats.akash.network is also a useful metric to look at adoption in a different way.
