and square in a democratic, undisputed election. He has no background of nazism at all. In that election, the combined list of right wing parties gained a combined 2.x% of the votes. The missed the 5% hurdle by a long shot and didn't get any seats in parliament. Hardly proof of pervasive wide-spread nazism in the Ukraine.
Hell, some right-wing parties in Germany get more votes. Is Putin going to start a war with Germany next??
I have no doubt there are neo nazis in the Ukraine. We may not like it, we may even hate it, but it does not give us or anyone the right to invade another country! Ultimately these are issues that the Ukraine has to deal with themselves.
Zelensky ran on promises of closer engagement with the West, membership in the EU and, yes, maybe even NATO. Obviously, this resonated with the Ukrainian people. Neither NATO nor EU membership was pushed onto the Ukraine, it is their free choice. Every country should be free to pursue partnerships and alliances as they wish.
Perhaps, if Putin wasn't such an awful bully, NATO and EU membership wouldn't be so desirable for many of the former Soviet states. In any case, neither this nor claims of nazism give him the right to invade another country.
You don't know the truth about Ukraine. Ukraine has banned the russian language since 2011 and still does. In 2014, for this reason, a civil war began in Ukraine.
