Jared Tate made a good point: isn't there a good

funding initative JUST for core developement yet? when he said that there are only 5 main devs (and the code is due to dandelion much more complex to adapt) maybe there should be thoughts on devs being on a regular payroll.

if this is already planned or discussed and an DGB-address pls let us know.

Who would pay them?

this group has over 14000 Users. i am happy to donate... (eg. wikipedia gets over x-millions from donations every f*ckng year by just anoying the users). i know it's not compareable but on the other hand: DGB doesn't need millions, huh?

Half those are likely bots. But if everyone that is active in this group gave $100/month we could probably hire 1 full time dev. But keeping donations rolling in will be difficult. I don't have $100/month to spare.

i see. how about this idea: there should be something like a go-fund-a-DGB-dev-page. donating money and if the goal will not be achieved by a certain point of time, the money should be given back.

That can be done. Though most devs would want some kind of assurances the job will continue before taking something like that on full time. Maybe the aliance can do this when they get running.

What about asking all the blocked users to anticipate? I guess that might be a good indicator for talented annoyers

Maybe a European stand point, they can start part-time too. I think 1 day per week would help already.

Not just any dev knows c++ and the advanced structures used in core wallet. Also most users in this group are not active.

Sure, it's just an example of showing small amounts can do great things with enough support. I also think that money can help a Dev make the step. But its also something you'd do because you believe in it. (ideally) How and by who or what could a fund be managed to make sure it's used properly?
