I find it interesting that more and more people in

crypto seem to forget the reasons why Bitcoin was able to survive. They seem unaware or maybe uninterested in the fact that what they are chasing and applauding will likely lead to them being corralled back into the permissioned systems that bitcoin was designed to set them free from.
If not for freedom, what is the point?

I think most people in crypto nowadays never take any coins from exchanges, do not know the difference between a token, a stable coin, and a decentralised currency. Looking at the numbers it is clear that the vast majority of traders does not use LN. I dont even think most have ever traded any btc. Also many traders have not ever used crypto for anything other than buying other crypto. In fact many believe the only purpose of crypto is to make them more fiat money. They see no other purpose for it. The idea of a money that is purely peer to peer with an issuance schedule similar to that of gold or another scarce natural asset, that is borderless, permissionless and censorship resistance, is I think not on most traders minds. Yet is is exactly this which will allow them to trade the way they have been trading also in the future. Also with what is happening in the world right now many people may learn the hard way the value of such a thing in the not so distant future
