SKALE is a multichain (multiple blockchain) network on Ethereum. Each Ethereum-native SKALE blockchain can do up to 2,000 TPS. There can be an unlimited number of SKALE blockchains in the network. This means the total cumulative TPS of the whole network is also uncapped and without limit.

Thanks! How many Ethereum-native Skale blockchains are there currently available?

To add to what emre said, fundamentally, there’s a shift in how you approach those questions. SKALE is built on top of Ethereum, so not meant to be an eth killer, but meant to be a layer that allows ETH to scale exponentially. SKALE is gas free, so you rent a chain (kind of like you would rent server space on AWS) and the transactions on it are free. You can then move the vast majority of your tx onto a skale chain and use Ethereum only when necessary.

there are currently 7 running live, with the V2 launch, there will be many many more. It is in theory unlimited (you would just need to keep adding servers). Since SKALE is a multichain, every Dapp that wants one can have their own EVM (read ethereum) compatible chain (or chains). In a few months there could be 100+ chains easily. There’s also the concept of a hub, where multiple dapps can share a chain, acting like todays side chains solutions, but SKALE can have multiple hubs. Hubs might be shared by dapps that don’t have much traffic, or by services where a shared chain would optimize the way people interact with them. That’s why we talk about a univers of SKALE Chains (SKALEVerse).

Thanks, very helpful info! Where can I check who currently own these 7 chains, if this is public?

the announcements are all in the channel, live we have Ivy.cash, covey, roll.app, capitalDEX, Trapchain, solydaria and CLET. Because there are different endpoints, we don’t have a public explorer yet but you can go to those companies and use their dapps. All in the blog https://skale.network/blog and we’ll have a page for them as they start to grow.
