recently read a Medium article from a few years ago talking about Overledger Gateways (halfway down this article https://cryptoseq.medium.com/how-the-overledger-network-community-treasury-powers-the-network-of-networks-b716b01d8284) and I was wondering if there was any more recent updates to this information out there? Also, was curious if I understood it correctly. In order to run a gateway you have to pay a one time fee in QNT (was originally planned to be 500 but likely to be less now); then the amount of requests you can take is based on how much QNT you are willing to provide to lockup in channels. Also, in the article it discusses the different proposed Tiers of Gateways and I was wondering, if you are running a few nodes for blockchain, and say you are in Tier 1, what would the benefit be? Would you be able to earn the native token for the nodes you are running as well? Simply get more requests coming your way and therefore earn more QNT? Sorry, for all the questions, just super lost and really want to learn as much as I can about this topic to see if running a Gateway would be worthwhile for me. Also, any known date/time for when these are going live?
I am in the same boat as you, been a holder for a year or so and want to understand the mechanics of running a gateway, just a bit confused about what is/isn’t available currently. I saw on the quant website that you pay a yearly fee of £100 and then the amount of traffic your gateway gets is dependent on a number of factors such as the ‘fee’ that you charge
Yup that's correct
