Should holders have the same degree of influence as miners?

Miners perform a job. If a construction company is hired to build a hotel, they get paid for it, but don't get a say in how the hotel is run, unless they buy shares in the company. I get the impression that some people here think they should get paid for the service provided and also get to dictate how the project gets run. Same people who accuse stakeholders of acting in their own best interest (lining their pockets, conveniently forgetting their incentives are aligned with the project) now say the change should be reversed in order to act in *their* interest to keep their machines (investment) profitable, without even learning what Decred is all about.

A better analogy would be the employees of the hotel that continue to work there. How many are going to continue to clean rooms and carry luggage when you give them a huge cut in pay? Seems like a bad decision from that perspective.
