But, if POW miners had mined 7 million DCR, why

was there no resistance to the vote?
Ok maybe they sold to cover the costs, sure.
What about people dumping below market prices?

What it is looking like is , there is a big entity that has a ton of ASIC mining devices doing all the bad stuff.

On the other hand there are definitely hundreds of POW miners who are really invested in the project and we’re screwed by this change

Doesn’t matter if it is one big evil millionaire or thousands of stakers. The truth is money drives everything. POS stakers and hodlers are never gonna say no to more money, I agree, it’s just normal human behavior. From its foundation, Decred gives more power to POS than POW.

Stakers asking themself "Do you want to increase your profit ? Vote for this. " So easy. I wanted be staker but i dont have enough DCR. I invested my money to equipment, to infrastructure in nov.2021. and almost 80% mined just holding.
